If the Vatican were your grandfather, you'd have him put away

Really, I mean picture the Pope standing on the porch in a ratty bathrobe and mismatch slippers ranting that somebody who disagrees with their beliefs or tradition is just as bad as a child rapist.  If you take a look at this article which summarizes a recent revision of internal laws, that's what the Vatican is saying: Woman priests are just as bad as pedophile priests.

You may say that's hyperbole but I think it's much more of a metaphor.  A hyperbole would be me saying that it's as if the Pope and his Vatican advisors have rats in their heads that are eating away at their brains. While splendidly over the top and visual, it's highly unlikely that's really what's happening...though it would explain a lot.

Just put yourself in this context - you're at a party and your friend introduces you to 2 people.

One tells you that they disagree with you on a matter of welfare for illegal immigrants.  You feel extremely strongly about this issue and you completely disagree with what the person is saying.

The other person says that they abuse children and they are not joking or lying.

So - which one is a worse person?

Could you live here?

Welcome to Itawamba, Miss where if they don't like "your kind" they'll just set up a fake prom and send you there while all the cool kids go to the real one. For a bit more background start here.

Oh, and this isn't as clear-cut as based on religious reasons since 2 of the 7 kids sent to the fake prom had learning disabilities and were also excluded, presumably based on that. As I look at this whole fiasco I have to wonder what kind of person would, if they have options, stay in this town or even move to it.

Lots of magazines like to run best places to live articles, I'd certainly like to see one that's worst places to live and have Itawamba listed right at the top of the list.
